How to measure forklift tires

Measuring the size of a forklift tire can be done by following these steps:
1.Measure the outer circumference of the tire: Use a professional metal measuring tape to measure around the tire along the centerline of the crown or the highest point closest to the center. Make sure to keep close to the tire when measuring, and record the integer part of the measurement in millimeters.

2.Measuring the section width: In the area without any markings or decorative lines on the sidewall, select four equally divided points on the tire circumference and measure using a vernier caliper or caliper. Again, the unit is millimeters and the value is an integer.

Tire size usually includes international standard codes, such as tire height, aspect ratio and type, such as D for light vehicles, F for medium vehicles, etc. The measured size is expressed in millimeters as a percentage of the section width and aspect ratio, followed by the tire type code, rim diameter, load index, and permissible speed code. For example, in the specification model 175/70r1477h, 175 means the tire width is 175mm, 70 means the tire section aspect ratio is 70%, the rim diameter is 14 inches, the load index is 77, and the operating speed is H level.
In addition, it is necessary to regularly check the tire wear, air pressure, and appearance for cracks, scratches and other abnormalities to ensure the safety and efficiency of the forklift.
